This just made my day when I read it this week. It was in the Memphis Commercial Appeal. If you have time, I highly suggest you read it. It's worth it. I don't know that I have ever laughed while reading an obituary before. After reading it, I am just dying to know more about Mrs. Ida Mae Sills. What a character! One of the online guest book entries says that her son wrote her obit. I bet he has thousands of Ida Mae stories he could publish. I would love to read them.
The line about her husband and his mother is something I will never forget! Here's the link:

I feel like crashing the funeral tomorrow just to hear more about this woman!

WITHDRAWALS....
I know I'm not alone when I say that I am going through Sonic withdrawals. Sonic in Hernando had a fire and is CLOSED for over a month due to a kitchen fire last week!! I went a week without my daily Happy Hour drink and today broke down and went to one of the local drive in joints. It was a dollar more, but at least it was in a styrofoam cup with pellet ice. I am counting down the days until our Sonic reopens. Of course, there is always the Sonic 15 minutes north of here if I get too desperate.
First time for everything

Peeps ... on a stick
What an easy thing to make. It took less than 2 hours, start to finish to make and package about 60 of them....make that 58. Two of them had an unfortunate demise. No one is fessing up to it, but I have a feeling I know who it is!
What's the deal with Christmas/Halloween/4th of July Peeps? I can only eat them at Easter time and they HAVE to be in the shape of a yellow chick or a pink bunny. I just can't stomach eating a marshmallow Santa Claus or Pumpkin...but now, covered in chocolate....maybe!

Shoe Heaven found at The Watermelon Patch
Well, most southerners or anyone headed down Hwy 49 in Mississippi towards the MS/AL/FL coast know about The Watermelon Patch. It is truly shoe heaven, especially flip flop heaven. On the way down to Gulfport to pick up my children from their Florida vacation with their grandmother, I made Andrew stop so I could shop. He couldn't believe all of the women in there going through Yellow Box shoe boxes, like there were hidden gold in them.
If you are a Yellow Box freak like I am, this is the place to buy them. I found at least 10 pairs that I could not live without. And, believe it or not, out of all 10 pairs I picked out, only 1 pair had a size 9 in stock that day. I had no idea so many folks wore a size 9! I did walk out of there with this crazy cute pair called "Puff." They are black with a silver leather top with silver beading.
None of the stores in Hernando/Southaven sell this style so, a ton of people have stopped me to ask where I got them. It is totally worth a day trip down to Seminary, MS to go shoe shopping. The girls at work want to go one Saturday and I can't wait! I already have my pairs picked out!
